Smokey, meaty, with a touch of deep burnt orange and straw/grass. High notes of ripe raisin and dark fruit.

Vintage 2011 - #cabernetfranc from #saumurchampigny with barrel aging. Perhaps a little less fruit, but certainly a lot of elegance and refinement. Plums in smell. A bit cedar. Smooth taste. Drank this at cellar temperature but I think it also can be drunk from the fridge. Good producer which we visited once.

My kind of wine but I’m predictable. Medium ruby but starting to show age on the rim, day bright. Aromas of violets, GBP, un-spicy jalapeño, black plum, black berries, yet also tart red cherries and cranberries, forest floor, meat, leather. Sweet tobacco on the palate. Dry, medium plus acid, medium plus tannins, medium alcohol, medium minus body. I would personally drink this anytime but could be a perfect fall/winter pick with all of the complexity and warm tertiary aromas. Love.

Excellent raw oyster and hibuscusy leather smell, so good and approachable, nice purple that’s dark, acid and structure sit there and leather creeps forward in shelfy layers that hits like 60% through the sip, bit then leave a coated bodied finish that stays and lingers as if a bubble of it is here to stay, raspberry, also totally admitting I just made my version of pad Thai with a lot of cilantro and it’s unreal combo wise

2014...tart, "tingley" finish. Current, plum with a slightly sour bite.
