Marcenasco Rocche Barolo Nebbiolo

Full bodied & youthful with ripe dark cherry, leather, licorice spice, menthol, tar & floral notes.

Dark cherry, plum. Aged beautifully and full of low tennis, low to medium acidity

This was more open tonight than past btls showing an elegant & perfumed nose of cherry, rose petal, licorice & tar.

Still a tad on the young side. Aromatics took time to open up and while present was not overwhelming. Quite dark in appearance but bright red fruits and tar. Fine tannins and good acidity

Unreal.

Great structure, good acidity, and well integrated silky tannins. On the palate, currants, leather, cherries, tar, and a nose full of roses and violets. Long dry finish... Bricking on the rim. Excellent.

2005

Sweet, earthy fruit. Powerful tannin. Love those clay soils.

This very young 2005 Borolo started off very tight and ended still tight but the flavored began to show after an hour of decanting. Even better by the end of dinner but 5 more years should make a positive difference. I think tobacco, chocolate and black berry notes are finally apparent. Hold for now.

Tannic dry; nice structure/feel; leather; almost silky rich aged balsamic
