2012 vintage. West Sonoma Coast. 78% Red Car Estate Vineyard and 22% Zio Tony Vineyard. Abv. 13,5%. French oak (16%new). 15% stems. Dark berries and pepper in the nose. Attractive juicy blackberry fruit, slightly rustic but well-integrated tannin, fresh acidity and good spicy length.

May 30th, 2017Weak and thin, this syrah has aromas of dill, root beer, wax, licorice, and cherries. Unfortunately thin in the mouth with not much structure.

Generous cracked pepper spice makes this a great pairing with a rack of barbecued ribs. Medium-plus body & refreshing acidy make good counter points to the rack's fat, too.

Jun 19th, 2013Unusual to see this nicely aged bottle on a list! This was delicious, fresh and juicy from the get go. Not overpowering but kept drawing you back in for sip after sip. In a great window now.
