Classic wine from Pickberry Vineyard where we are sourcing our Gamling & McDuck cab franc this year. It has held up well. Elegant and savory, tertiary sour, fading brown sugar, hint o' bret, try it with veal.

1987 Ravenswood Pickberry Field Red
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot
13.2% ABV

Appearance: brick red color, small garnet core with large pink rim, fast forming legs
Nose: fruits surprisingly fresh given the age, forest floor, mushroom, sun dried tomatoes
Taste: soft tannins, low acidity (almost nonexistent), minor brettanomyces, fresh fruits, red currant, hints of brown sugar
