Rain on wet stones, cardamom, acacia. Massive acidity & great balancing minerality. GG in every way. Definitely Riesling for birds, rare venison!

This wine is just beginning to show its potential. Past vintages I've had include 2001, 2002. Not produced in every vintage, the is a Grosses Gewachs (Grand Cru) as defined by the VdP. Harvested at "auslese" ripeness, fermented very slowly, and just released in 2014. It will develop for decades. Brilliant!

Complex nose of slate, kerosene, lime and Granny Smith apple. More of a red apple roundness on the palate with a hint of honey. Nice length with some chalky mouthfeel. Still primary but good potential.
