Raptor Ridge
Meredith Mitchell Vineyard Pinot Noir
Pleasantly surprised for the price - especially for a back vintage! A little more tame and refined than many of the classic Oregon PN. Don't be put off by the screw top.

Dec 17th, 2019These 09s are drinking nicely this weekend. This is a 300 case production. Solid, good fruit. The 09 heat has not negatively impacting this McMinnville source.

Jan 7th, 2019I'm back. Just a nice mouthy pinot to get going again. Prost!

Jan 24th, 2016Subtle nose of dry leather and cedar, mint, orange rind, and dark cherries. An acid assault on the palate, with strong notes of cranberries and pomegranate, finishing out with the signature notes of leather and candied orange typical of wines from Meredith Mitchell Vineyard. Fruit and soil is to be searched for in this wine and the nose fades over time, but the acid continues on.

Nov 3rd, 2014Wild and willful, Raptor Ridge's 2012 Meredith Mitchell Vineyard Pinot Noir follows in suit of past vintages: she does what she wants. A perfume-y nose of sour cherries, strawberry-rhubarb, sage, eucalyptus, summer pine needles, and fresh mushrooms, giving way to a buxom and juicy wine of bright red cherries, currants, orange rind, and gooseberries. She mellows to red plums and brown pears, finishing with wet river stones, meadow soils, conditioned new leather, and a lasting impression of ripe green apples that will be sure to to tempt you in future openings. Giver her time - she will come around.
