Dusty Lane Sonoma Coast Syrah
2015 vintage. Pretty Northern Rhône-styled effort. Wanted a little more finishing structure but still worthy.

Jan 30th, 2022Blackouts are not “rolling” in Dallas. Power is just out forever. Opened this to make the evening a little better. I have power now, but I know it won’t last long. This wine is helping. A little funk on the nose. Herbal notes with a hint of spice on the finish. Don’t hold these for much longer.

Oct 7th, 2020A Memorial Day BBQ wine, this was fantastic especially considering its youth. White pepper, plum and cassis, decent acidity, great body and length. I love R-C mostly for their Pinot, but they make a couple Syrah cuvées that rock (Cherry Camp is the other).

May 26th, 2020Deep red color. Black fruit on the nose. Earthiness quality to the wine. Big red but not overpowering. Lingering herbs, but not overwhelming. Really good balance. This wine should only improve over the next couple of years. Decanted for a little over an hour. Served with roasted whole chicken done on the grill and grilled figs. Outstanding pairing.

Jul 2nd, 2017Plenty of smoke and raspberry. A little light on acid, but perfect with certain foods: lamb, grilled shishito peppers, lentils. No need to hold this one, drink now.
