Smoke, game, leather, desiccated dark red fruits. High tannins still tight and coarse. Medium acidity and tempered body. Large or old oak barrels — neutral oak.

Blend from the late 60s and early 70s. A pretty god wine, though it needs plenty of time to open. From what I've tasted of these non vintage Tondonias they're solid drinkers but not up to the level of the regular vintage R/GR wines.

Still, nice notes of stewed black berries, with hints of tar and an almost molasses-like finish.

NB: like most old Riojas this needed serious decanting. Don't even think about opening it if it hasn't been standing up for a month first!

Orange rind, fennel, sour cherry, sweet tart finish. Drink it like you stole it!

A welcome dose of red wine after the Huet lineup. Out of magnum (thanks, Justin).
A baby yet. Really delicious.

Not quite as good as the 03, but still sets a high bar for Rioja in this price range.

Deep Red with brown edges with aromas of overripe fruits and sweet spice. Aged for 6 years on year old American oak. On the palate currant and red Berry flavors with dried cranberry nuances. The tannins still have a firm grip, well balanced with good acidity. The finish was smooth and rich with vanilla oak being present on a lingering ending. Still has many years left.
