Offering Port wannabe aromatics on the still youthful nose. On the palate, it’s beautifully structured and fresh, laced with slatey minerality and dark chocolate flavours. Needs a few years to shed its baby fat, but from 2020 through 2030+, this will be awesome.

Oct 22nd, 2017A cooler vintage in the Douro. And for the first time, stems were used during fermentation has created and strict and aromatic version combining rich red berries with spice with and crushed stone flavours. Still tight but showing great promise. 94 p.

Mar 5th, 2017Ageing at a glacial pace, this is still remarkably youthful, providing stunning aromatics and slatey additions. The complex and layered palate is dense and still backward with tight yet sweet and grainy tannins creating balance thanks to a mineral core, great minerality and brilliant clarity of fruit. 2011 is more obvious but 2010 gets my vote as one of QDVM's most refined wines ever

Jan 24th, 2016Earthy notes, and good length, but the syrupy sweetness is overwhelming. An experimental cellaring miss.

Oct 25th, 2014Smooth and elegant. A bit closed at the start. But a lovely wine with a side we long finish.
