“The purple-colored 2007 Quinta do Crasto Vintage Port reveals aromas of earth, mineral, espresso, Asian spices, and blackberry compote. On the palate it has excellent breadth, a plush texture, excellent depth, succulent flavors, and enough ripe tannin to evolve for 8-10 years. The wine’s balance suggests that it will still be in its prime at age 20, probably longer.” RP91, 2007

Powerful to be sure. Subtle floral notes complement the plummy character on the nose. Smoky palate which complements the mocha & dark fruit. Delicious.

Yep, it's young, but I wanted to see what all the fuss about the 2011 vintage was about. Opened this wine yesterday and it was unremarkable and put it in the fridge. Tonight is a different story. Now it's all pepper and licorice. The palate is meaty, spicy, complex, and balanced. Put some of this in the cellar if you can find it.
