(Again, @Delectable Wine , this is not the Reserva). Quite different than my last bottle a year ago. Not sure it’s anything other than bottle variation. The nose is incredibly STANKY, with a minerality so intense it’s almost biological. Fruity verges on pruney. On the mouth it’s concentrated, with the fruit having a slightly pulpy texture. This doesn’t skimp on character. The palate is a bit more composed and less “out there” than the stanky nose. I like it, but it took some getting used to.

This is not the Reserva. The nose has some complexity, with deep-toned squished berries, some dry underbrush and spice, and a fair amount of high-toned cracked stone minerality. In the mouth it’s got loads of pulpy dark fruit and some deep savory elements. A clingy finish with just a bit of tannin and decent acids. The nose is more complex than the palate, but at this value pricepoint, I’m not complaining.

Sour red cherry with some vanilla oak and a dry earthy finish. Sharp acidity, a bit syrupy and dense. Good with leftovers.
