Quilceda Creek
Washington Cabernet Sauvignon
Undrinkable. Over the top extraction and no elegance. Awful

1 person found it helpfulApr 12th, 2015Restrained nose of Plum and Prune. Also notes of wet hot bitumen road. Latent brooding power. Experts say drinking window to 2015 but will go on well beyond that IMO. Amazing fruit strength for a cool climate area like Washington State. Full bodied with decadently rich flavours. One of the best new world Cabernets I have had. Up there with Woodlands Moss Wood Dominus Sassacaia amongst others having not tried many of the Californian Cult classics. A birthday treat.

Nov 19th, 2015I don't get it. Alcohol completely out of whack. Decanted several times. Maybe it's a 3 dayer. Like super roasted fruit with steel wool attached. Literally hurt my palate.

Jul 17th, 2022This wine is a lodestone... lovers and haters abound. 17 years old and still dark pure purple in the glass. Instant black cherry and cassis notes...along with saddle leather and tobacco from the oak. Round, oily, almost viscous on the tongue...alcohol still slightly noticeable, but much more integrated than when last tasted. The wine is intense..powerful, rich with a purity that keeps my interest...simply blown away this day by the ‘94 Dominus. I keep my vertical going, but sometimes I wonder why.
