Quilceda Creek
Palengat Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
This is a gorgeous Bordeaux blend from Washington State.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, cola, black pepper, light vegetables, earth and licorice.
Feels like a Napa Cabernet with light age. Showing great complexity already.
Robert Parker 94 points.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
Very yummy now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.
This is a fabulous Cabernet.
A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. Aged in new French oak barrels for 20 months.
94 points.
$120.

Wow finisher for a night of great wines. Confused though. Back label says merlot with added cab and cab franc. On other websites like Delectable my site it says Cab based. Well Wine is terrific. CB says a 94!!. You all tell me! Thanks...

Jul 25th, 2016Listen---first of all I have had many outstanding bottles of Quilceda and we all know they generally need 10 years of bottle age to start shedding their massive tannins--but at 9 years this is a harsh, camphor and cough syrup mess. Audozed for 4 hours because I was trapped without a decanter. Just a disaster in a glass last night. Most of the bottle is left so I will report back when I revisit tonight or tomorrow.

Feb 23rd, 2015This was great! Multiple hour decant. Silky texture. Nice balanced between fruit and terroir. Elegant and high quality!

Oct 17th, 2024Dark, inky color - lot of oak coming through on the nose and on the palette. Beautiful now but still so young. Oak needs to integrate further.
