2006 quilceda creek Columbia. Whoa. First time trying their wines. A very restrained Cabernet from Washington, but still could tell this had so much attention payed to it.

Nice minerality and red cherry. Good balance. Not overly sophisticated.

Pretty close to perfect. Decanted for 2 hours. The initial taste is intense and big. Dark fruits and intense dark flavors dominate the palate. The finish is 45+ seconds so it's not perfect but it's balance is uncanny. You aren't overwhelmed by any of the flavors but you are mesmerized by the kaleidoscope of flavors. This wine has 20+ years of life and is entering a great phase.

Really good. Big blue fruits with loooong finish. Needs 2+ hour decant. Yummy!
