First time with a wine from Peru. Somewhat tart and earthy with a hint of sweetness as we paired it with the Peruvian food we cooked. Lomo Saltado with papas a la huancaína. Got to put aji amarillo in our dishes which was a new spice for us. This wine was light and earthy and just enhanced the flavors.

Never had a wine from Peru, might find any others too. Thank goodness I found this! Wine is good! Very sherry like. Suspect they added a little pisco before aging in barrels. Ruddy orange in color, lots of sediment. Semi dry, low acid, low tannin. Nose hints of smoke, apple/pear blossom. Taste is bright cherry, apple, pear and finishes pretty clean with a lingering sweetness that is then cleared away with that hint of tannin.

Paired with pollo a la brasa, arroz chaufa, and papas a la Huancaine. Would serve again, as the wine paired really well with all.

The first wine of peru using a native grape, The two main taste profiles- Acidic & Earthy. Not a common combo but one I believe works for my taste. We also ate with excellent peruvian food. would also pair well with seafood ceviche,
