After a week of Tuscan and Umbrian wines, I was dying for something from Piemonte. Dark, brooding, herbal, and floral on the nose, with a somewhat light brick red color. Palate is dark cherry, tobacco, a twinge of mint, a dry meadow, and some definite oak toast (though not in a bad way). There is a bit of backend spice on the medium long finish joining the firm tannins. 13.5% ABV.
