Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

Cocoa powder and cedar on the nose. Lovely coarse-grained tannins kick in first of all, chased by ripe cherries, and hints of syrop de cassis. Good density and mouthfeel completes an enjoyable experience. This needs to relax a little (due to the tannins). Give it another year more in the bottle, if you can resist that long.

Dark red fruit, bramble, cocoa powder and cola.

Rich, deep, flavorful. Not a bad price, either.

I loved the 2013 vintage of this provenance cab. This was a huge disappointment.

This is a very good Rutherford cab for the price ($32?). No obvious heat, tannins are in check for a '13 at this young stage, and the fruit is forward without being overtly sweet. Given how it's showing now, this might be one to drink over the next couple years vs. cellar.

Should have reviewed my previous notes! PnP which resulted in a less than impressive showing. Closed nose. Dark cherry and leather. Needs air!!!

Decanted 2 hours. Wonderful dark fruits on the nose that carry through to the palate. Certainly there is some Rutherford dust but there remains some tannin that remains less than well integrated. This is exceptional value.

Give it 30-60 minutes of air and its ready to go, thanks @Ron R for the post, otherwise I wouldn't have known about it.
I'll take this over the Leviathan for basically the same 💵
