If there is a better Lessona than this, please enlighten me. Close to perfect. Actually, a perfect Lessona…

Nebbiolo from a lesser known area in Piemonte. All the characteristics of Nebbiolo that make this one of my favorite varietals. 2010 was very approachable. Great fruit, hints of rose petals all brought together with a true sense of place. Carried through a lovely meal.

Tasty little piece. Anise, cinnamon spice, rounder red fruit, more than expected. Richness beyond it's years...

Feb 3rd, 2017Delicious Nebbiolo and the really special bits: made by son of vintner who makes my favorite wine (Cepparello), poured by his lovely Mother, tasted at Isole e Olena by the setting Tuscan sun. Wow. #thankful

Northernmost Piemonte; alpine. Herbal notes that when blinded confused us for burgundy. Piney and eventually over the course of an hour developed some cassis notes, but none of the crunchy, high toned red fruit you expect from lower altitude Piemonte. A region I want to explore some more.
