Nose of dark cherries, cherries, pouched strawberries fresh, red florals and light earth. First sip was a little astringent but it settled in quickly. Ripe; dark cherries, cherries, strawberry preserves, soft spices, light dark rich earth, medium chalkiness stones, perfumed red florals with good acidity and round, ripe finish. Burgundian in style. Good wine by the glass off the list @ Malo. See you tomorrow Central O.

Classic Central Otago dark brooding character, but with more elegance than Gibbston Valley or Valli. The nose is all blue and black fruit, with a vein of cedar spice, Med-full bodied, complex, with a silky mouthfeel. Serious weight, but not heavy. A cross between the dark weight of Otago and a good Gevrey. Strong buy.

From back label. Located on a high-elevation, steep glacial terrace in the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago. This stunning site has clay and pedogenic lime soil, featuring schist and quartz.
A traditional aesthetic - respectful, patient, vineyard- focused- resonates in our approach, and frees the wine to express the unique tenor of our sites.

This wine was fermented using only indigenous ‘ wild’ yeast and matured for 17 months in French oak barrels. This wine was bottled unfiltered on 10th of November 2016. Careful cellaring will reward collectors over the next 10+ years. 1046 cases were made.

Very good, rich PN of CO. Deep dark red fruits n a some tannins. Very good body but might lack a little acididi. Debelops nicely in glass from tight black currant to ripe strawberry n a stone minerality.
