Riserva Rio Sordo Barbaresco Nebbiolo

Same notes as LBT, fleshy, open knit and delicious!

Really loved the generosity and open knit texture this had. Remarkable grace for its youth and plenty of immediacy on the mid-palate with its nice round morello cherry and red plum fruit. Layers of cool herbs, wildflowers, and warm spice add to the mix. The pliancy of the tannins really brought the whole package together. Lovely bottle

Just right Barbaresco, perfectly aged and ready to drink right out of the bottle. Red fruit with elegant smooth finish. Classic.

Great nose. Not too tannic once chilled appropriately. Great value

Fading dark garnet with dry tannins and leather, tar, cherry, and tobacco.

Bright cherry, floral. Firm tannins. Time would help.

Rated as the “lesser” cru of 2013 but started phenomenally, beautiful aromatic nose and juicy taste with the typical Barbaresco flavours. But after a 4 hour decant VA pops up, initially ok but kept on increasing untill it became a glass of nail polisher. Dissappointing and interesting at the same time. Luckily only with the last glass...
