Brief notes at home with Fettuccine in the Puttanesca style. Ended up being the perfect accompaniment. Menthol and savoury cherry with earthy aromas. Balsamic notes with a tarry nuance. Really enjoyable and tasting way younger than its 14 years. I would love to have the experience and knowledge to distinguish the different nuances between the Produttori Cuvées. Rabaja and Asili seem to be two of the preferred Cuvées among professionals.

Opened this last weekend and served with a heavy spaghetti meat sauce. Good while eating the meat sauce but without not so good while not. The meat tamed the tannic bite. Later, I vacuum sealed it and reopened tonight. Last weekend, big dark heavy bitty tannins. It was too young and served well before its was ready. However tonight, smooth sour & tart cherries, hint of black licorice, menthol, graphite and black plum finish. Much better tonight. An 8.7 last week but not a fair test so young. Knew it would be much better tonight.

Fairly dark fruited with some tar and roses, so I guess quite classical Nebbiolo. None of those overly herby notes I found in the 08 Ovello which is good by me. I look fwd to continuing through the collectors case of 9 mixed crus.
