Showing beautifully opulent cherries jubilee and chocolate flavors and just beginning to show a hint of leather.

@pridewines @pridemtnsally much fresher than expectations. very grippy tannins still exist almost making the wine off balance. will be interesting to try another one in 5yrs #mountainwine #1997vintage

100 pointer, apparently! Still had a few more years to go, and was aging gracefully. I sell Pride, but this was the first time I had their Claret, and what a vintage! Thanks Larry!

Decent, but had much higher expectations. Bottle seemed to be in good shape, but a bit reticent on the nose and not a lot going on on the palate.

Pride nose is Carmel. Dark. A little bit of tobacco, baking spice. Taste is fruity than the lakoya. Finish isn’t quite there. 9.1

This proves how important the winemaker is. In a poor vintage a good winemaker can make Lemons from lemonade. Very well done I can only imagine what they can do with a premier vintage.
