Even in its broadness it’s so nimble.

Note to self, drink more Austrian wine in 2023. A nose that kept luring me in with a hook made of citrus and honey, haunting. In the mouth, acid and minerals declared eminent domain until it released flavors of pears, salt, watermelon and orange.

Zippy citrus, green apple, green pear, tropical notes, slight petrol. Great wine.

Our first official, post-COVID dinner with most of our old wine crew, plus new friends. No notes, but honest scores.

This... Is... Delicious!

Dinner party, no formal notes.
Finally a good bottle on this, too much bottle variation previously!

German/Austrian wine night in Great Barrington, MA; 2019.

Phenolic notes, fresh green herbs, under-ripe pineapple.

Group consensus, bretty...off bottle.

Had this when we got engaged, and every December since. 9th one and definitely the best. Fruit has gone uber tropical, white mushroom and chamomile popping, and the acid is bright as ever!

Extra1/2 point for sentimental reasons. Drink one every year and love watching the evolution. Aromas of OJ concentrate (?!), apricot, might blossoms, button mushroom, and wet stone. PalAte shows fresh orange, lemon peel, great weight, and tons of cut. Acid for days.

I've prob had 20+ bottles of this wine & all excellent, but none showed as well as this one. Just perfect; fruit alive and precise, mineral balance and laser cut precision. So lucky.

So fun to taste an older vintage of these wines. Still in balance. Medium body, high acid still after 11 years. Waxy, honeyed, yet crisp with a touch of sweetness.
