Prager
Wachstum Bodenstein Smaragd Grüner Veltliner
Plenty of citrus and herbs, sweet and sour harmony with a cola note. Lemon and lime, and a creamy, broad mineral midpalate. Massive wine. Very textural. Delicious, a notch below the 2017.

Nov 12th, 2022Incredible briskness and freshness on the nose of seashell, lily and golden russet apple with a butterscotch undercurrent. Palate is zippy with amazing density. The acid itself is almost astringent at first, like the juice of the pineapple core, but mellows out and reveals other flavors like yellow plum, apple, kiwi and fondant, all braced by stony minerals. There’s a subtly sweetness on the long finish that makes this approachable now, but it really needs much more time.
This wine is endless. I mean still improving on night 5 when I couldn’t not finish it.

Lime pulp, nectarine, daisies, water chestnut, horseradish, jicama, dry stone, all with a laser-like focus.

May 2nd, 2016Baller Gruner, notes of honey, kaffir lime, fresh flowers, fresh pears, subtle toast, with bracing acidity and a laser like finish. Still a baby but enjoyable now, better in 5-7 and beyond!

Jul 11th, 2015My favorite of Prager, showing the depth and complexity from a high elevation massale vineyard.

May 20th, 2015Outstanding. One of the best gruners in recent memory. Layered and rich, but subtle at the same time. Beautiful wine.
