Mar 17th, 2018Extremely powerful Cabernet. Thomas rivers brown has done wonderfully with this effort. Some from tench in oakville gives it a nice woody smokey palate with that great deep blackberry with a not too dark extraction. Very nice.

Tons of layers and complexity on the nose with notes of blackberries, cassis, black currants, spices, violets, cinnamon and a touch of dark cocoa. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) with solid structure and full bodied. Earthy texture on the palate and the layers of cinnamon, dark fruits, spices and cassis. Very dry and long finish. Drink till 2030.

Taste is incredible fruit - dark blue and red fruit - highly structured tannins with density and complexity galore - smell works but it will get more aromatic in 2-3 years - If drinking now as I did then please decant
This comes from Tench vineyards - same as the acclaimed bevan - well I say drink this at half the price then you tell me the difference

Very well made; excellent to drink now and structured to lay for longer as well. Cherry pie, sweet vanilla but no American wood - 90% new French oak for 14 months. New world flavors are well integrated with an underlying European sensibility: minerality, plush and smooth tannins, integrated alcohol with an elegant finish. Gorgeously satisfying with a full range of dishes: from abalone to pork to cinnamon beignets!

Dark purplish ruby red. Tons of sweet/baking spices on the nose with some anise, black fruits and toasty oak influence. Heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Very rich and extracted with tons of complexity. Layers of dark cocoa, vanilla, blackberries, blueberries, and dark gravel. Long and lingering finish. Drinking very well right now with around an hour or two decant. Drink till 2030.
