Porta Regia
Old Vines Jumilla Monastrell
Bandol with training wheels. Varietally true Mourvèdre: pungent tree bark, dark blackberry skins, minerally dry gravel. Rich and soft. Good straightforward fruit. Not super complex in the mouth, but balanced and flavorful. Seems like there is some barely discernible residual sugar, which is my only quibble at 10 bucks.
UPDATE: On night 3, this was really nice! Gained complexity, some nice acidity came out, and the sweetness receded.
