Ponzi Vineyards
Reserve Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Had this Year ago. More than 40 years, Ponzi Vineyards set the standard for New World Pinot production with many innovations & techniques. All 130 acres of Ponzi vineyards are certified sustainable. Aromas of rich ripe fruit and osk spice, aged for 20 months on French oak (30% new) with fruit from Ponzi's Aurora, Abetina and Madrona vineyards. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with currants, herb and licorice notes. Lingers, well balanced frame ending with spice, cedar & mineral tones. Nice!

Feb 20th, 2019An utterly breathtaking, seductive nose perfumed in rose water, rhubarb, black cherry, incense, anise, cola, sous bois. The underlying structure is there in Ponzi's 2013 Pinot Noir Reserve, in the form of ultra-fine tannins framing out a wine of tremendous grace and elegance. Fruit on the palate—a tumble of red and black— is overtaken by subtle, loamy minerality. 13.6% ABV | Sample

May 25th, 2017Certainly extraordinary in elegance and mouth feel, although very short and disappointing on the palate. I wanted to like this wine far more than I did. However, Oregon Pinot is simply not my preference, and for all my attempt at objective criticism I am sure that factors into my review.
