Not one of my favorite vintages of this vineyard but drinking very nicely nonetheless at age 9. Firm structure with a little flesh that keeps it agreeable. Dry and subtle.

Picture shows 2014 but this is the 2012. A bit of a departure here for this producer. The palate on this 8-year-old delivers a generous mouthful of ripe, juicy, pineapple fruit, Finishes appropriately dry though and with solid structure. Could pass for a good California grower Chardonnay.

At 7 years, the 2013 Avellana is showing silky texture wrapped around a ripe acid backbone and a little structural tannin. Baked apples, cinnamon, chamomile, baking spices. Drink now through 2023.

Grilled pears, lemon curd, toasted hazelnuts, chamomile. Mouthfilling with a trace of tannin and powdered sugar in the finish. Impressive and peaking nicely but should not be aged any longer.
