Into this, price considering. Big and juicy. Some floral notes on the nose. Blueberries, red currants, quite the tangy fruit bomb. Not complex but an easy drinker. Went well with both some barbecued ribs and mango slaw. Mom approves which is a win for me.

Very interesting wine. It’s a Chilean Syrah from Colchagua Valley, which is notoriously known for its Carmenere. Medium bodied. Initial taste of dark cherries and plums. This is short lived though, transitioning to a predominant earthy and smokiness, followed by tobacco spice. The earthiness isn’t over powering but is present, the spice develops well although isn’t as complex like some B.C. varietal Syrahs. It’s a very smooth, enjoyable, and unique wine! Paired it with blue cheese, white wine cherry tomato chicken and salad.

A quiet opening with a long finish. Not too acidic. A nice bottle (2013 Vintage)
