Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese

2015 is showing great finesse and purity, rendered in an airy and lifted style. Very limpid, ruby to garnet color with a feeling of weightlessness in the glass. The nose is very generous, showing sour cherry and crushed strawberries with hints of rhubarb, cinnamon, rose petal and tobacco. The mid palate shows increasing density with air, leaving somewhat resinous impressions of minerals, licorice and mint. Piercing acidity, moderately firm tannic grip and slightly grainy on the finish. Lovely, precise and balanced.

This was showing well for me. Very easy going and balanced Rosso. Not super complex but it didn't need to be.

Wine is drinking great now and can definitely benefit from a few years of aging. Lots of fresh fruit aromas, and acidity and structure to pair great with Italian food.

Decent

2008 vintage. Blackberry, sour cherry and eucalyptus. Smooth, silky.

Youthful Rosso with a red fruit core supported by perfumed and spicy elements. Fresh acidity and high tannin with a fairly long and savoury finish, perhaps alcohol a little out of balance in 2016

Fruity nose. Bright and well structured palette. Great rosso.

2012
