Poggio Antico was founded in 1976 and consist of 50 clayey, calcareous acres of Brunello di Montalcino. A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 50% Cab Sauv, aromas of ripe black fruit with sweet spice notes. On the palate cherry and strawberry flavors with hints of cacao, good structure, well balanced. Youthful fine tannins, lingering, ending with concentrated fruits. Good now, has aging pontential.

Absolutely loved this wine. Cab added to the Sangiovese makes this very interesting.
