Spices, stem, and oak on the nose. The scent opens up after a good decanting and taking the temp down a few degrees. A little more acid and chewy leaf flavors than expected. All in all, more rustic than where these wines are often headed and the subtle pomegranate and bright cherry flavors bloom when paired with a hearty dish. This is for Sunday family meal, not a solo adult time-out.

If I had a DeLorean and could travel back in time, I would find the version of myself from an hour ago and convince him to not drink this wine. Seriously, it may have been a bad bottle we received. Feels like Bif sabotaged it!
