Planeta La Segreta Sicilia DOC 2013. 50% Nero d’Avola, 25% Merlot, 20% Syrah & 5% Cabernet Franc. Bright red fruits. Medium tannins. Nice balance & structure. An extremely versatile wine. Cheers🍷

Top producer. Nice balance of aroma, taste and after-taste. Has minerality. A lot of pepper and red berries in the beginning, starts to open up with some time, offering you hits of grass and violets. Acidity is good, but tannins are low.

Red berries prevail in the nose and in the color, good influence of Merlo. Dried tomatoes, steel. No oak, 2 weeks of maceration on grape skin. Good minerality - chalky soils, limestone feels in the nose. 13% abv

Bere bene quotidiano....says the back label (good everyday drinking) which is spot on. Excellent value at €16 and excellent accompaniment to a good pizza. Not sure about the cocoa and balsamic notes, but stood up to 'olio piccante' and came out smiling -as was I.

Very aromatic. Plum and raspberrry. Fruit forward. Medium bodied. Medium tannin. Good cheaper wine for every day drinking on its own.

Sicilian farm land on the nose - wet barn straw, out of nowhere comes a unique citrus forepallete like that first taste of summer. Bright berry, big acid, where the oak comes and pulls hit all in. Great blend for this Producer.
