Decanted for about 30 min-leather, smoke and juniper on the nose. A montage of fresh herbs, black cherry and leather flavors abound. Picked up weight with more time which showed it has many years ahead of it.

Tiny bit of barnyard on open. Lighter garnet in color. Blew off to lovely black and red fruits with light hints of anise. Sleek finish. Great with prime strip steak. 2nd dinner this week at #prestonhouse did not disappoint!

2011. Petroleum, dusty earth and balsamic notes on the palate. Lovely balance of dark earthy fruit mixed with sweet cherry notes and graphite.

Jan 21st, 2017Had this Brunello at a wonderful rustic lunch at this ultra small biodynamic winery and after tasting at home, glad to see my first impressions of this outstanding wine were not overly romanticized. Excellent medium-to-full bodied wine with a lot of character and silky tannins with sustained finish. Great with flavorful lentils and meat pizza as well as prosciutto and cheese. Need to figure out how to get more of this great hooch.
