Cocoa. Black cherries. Floral. Mineral. Jumps out of the glass.

Mid crimson in colour with a tawny rim. Balsamic and savoury with dried flower notes - a slight touch of barnyard. Just medium weight - the palate devoid of fruit. As you would expect a tremendous food wine and a good accompaniment to Roast Lamb. Fine tarry tannins finishing very dry.

The tradition began in 1881, when Pio Cesare started gathering grapes in his vineyards. Only produced in excellent vintages, small 500 case production of this beauty. Big powerful wine, aromas of elegant fruits & sweet delicate spices. On the palate rich cherry, licorice and smoky oak tones. Firm fat tannins with good backbone, too young now, ending with earthy mineral character. Tasting Sample.

Nebbiolo to drink now! Dark fruit aromas with some sweet spice notes. On the palate black cherry and sweet plum with cacao and vanilla oak tones. Soft tannins, lingering ending with a savory fruit finish.

Gorgeous. Well structured wine. Still has many years of life left in it

Willos Italian night. A step up in quality from recent bottles this evening but in its infancy from a quality producer in Alba.

Much better than my previous bottle, but still appears to be headed past prime. A little soft and unfocused.

Sadly well past prime. Possibly exposed to heat at some point as it tasted cooked.
