On flight from Dubai to Singapore. Pierro vintage reserve Chardonnay , 2013. Nice green tints with the light lemon gold. Comes across quite restrained , oak is nicely balanced with ripe apple , citrus , maybe a touch of pineapple or passion fruit. In the mouth , ripe fruit again , apple and citrus, but also grapefruit, mineral also perhaps. Quite focused, well balanced though there is a creamy richness that makes me think that there must be a reasonable amount of alcohol, full bodied. Long finish , nicely balanced acidity but due to the richness of the wine it doesn't give real refreshment, this is serious Chardonnay however. A good , enjoyable wine though may not be able to finish more than a couple of glasses!
