Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey
La Chatenière Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay
Saint-Aubin, Côte de Beaune, Burgundy, France

Good minerality - wet stone, like many PYCM wines particularly from Saint Aubin, yellow fruits and citrus. 60 year old vines. Warmer site than Champlots. Looking at previous Delectable Notes for 2017 and 2015 for this Cuvée, the tasting notes are similar.

More delicate than fulsome. Definitely more citrus than stone fruit. Palate intensity is medium plus - some mineral and spice. A classy bottle of white burgundy. The trademark heavy bottle from PYCM.

See previous Delectable notes. Mid lemon in colour - brilliant clarity. On the nose and palate notes of ripe grapefruit, fresh herbs, wet stone and minerals. Medium plus acidity. The following night it still retains the tension and power when initially tasted.

White and yellow florals. On the palate there are ripe citrus flavours. Delicate with a piercing intensity, if that makes sense - just the right amount of oak influence. At 10 years this white burgundy still has tension but overall a lean impression - a few years left in the cellar - I have one left. Points off for a ridiculously heavy and large bottle. I had to store it in my magnum storage.

Very fine—piercing acidity, lemon curd, brown butter, hazelnut, genmaichai, crushed stone in abundance
