Beautiful, whip-smart Northern Rhône Syrah with blackberry, violets, granite and, after air, a gorgeous olive note running through both the nose and palate. The texture is sleek and refined, with excellent freshness, fine tannins and a long, elegant finish. Not quite as complete or tightly composed as the monumental 2019, but still an exceptional Gonon and a brilliant expression of the vintage.

La mouline to finish. Good lineup for the night. Dalforno1st, piano 2nd, la mouline3rd, lambrays 4th, gonon 5th. Problem they are all excellent so difficult to put a rating. Good birthday.

Mar 8th, 2025Amazing what Gonon can coerce out of these vines. Wine is alive, multilayered, dark fruit a bit of tar, incredible balance. By no way overpowering in a hot year.
