Bordering bonnes mares - small berry intensity, incredible, just beyond amazing purity. Wow, what a wine. Has that noirots intensity but is also silky. Perfect. Amazing sap and density but omg this is so sappy.

Took 3 hours and was unforgiving when initially opened but then at 3 hours it was heavenly. Just classy beyond belief and a pillow on your palate with incredible fruit. Elite finesse and had that X factor. It was better than an 08 Roumier Les Cras that I had a sip of. I think I’d wait 2-3 more years on these or decant for 3 hours.

2020 here we go. What a nose. A terrific follow up to the stunning 19. Dark black cherries, huge sous bois, what breadth and depth. Just insane. Gorgeous clarity of cherry fruit that you cannot possibly think this comes from grapes it is so clear. Riper than 19. Such depth. Deep ocean as I like to say. Palate is ripe and juicy and so so elegant. Energetic and rich but also fresh as a daisy. Wow that concentration is wonderful with all the tiny black cherry fruit intensity and a treacly texture that has tremendous sweetness and building tannins. Wow this is long and dazzlingly pure. Now the flowers pick up on the nose and this is just utterly transcendent. It’s opening and opening. This since 19 has become a top 2-3 red at Brisset. Stunning inner mouth aromas and intense but tactile minerality. Wow so sweet and so intense and grippier than the 19 at this point but wow that icing on cake, treacly texture is really the star here along with the deep black cherry fruit that is allied with freshness and length. This needs to open big time but a stunner.

Now after 2 hours the nose just stanks of minerality. How can a wine be this sweaty and classy at the time?

OMFG. This nose is insane. Insane. Just the most pure black cherry ever. God’s Jelly Donut filling. Earthy, graphite? Tiny berry fruit intensity. Wild flower that is crazy. Smells like a scene in nature. Wow, the sweetness is BONKERS. Unreal purity. So balanced and pure. Texture is seamless. Huge amplitude and minerals. Tingly saline mineral note. Minerality and more mineral than the whites. The finish has tiny berry fruit intensity and echoes of flowers. What a finish. How is this better than the Cras?

Now the nose gets herbal. Complexity is off the charts. Raspberry spice cake on the nose now. This is some of the most beautiful fruit I’ve ever had in my life. But the finish is glorious minerals intermingled with fruit.

Closed to start but nose is startling. Layered and floral and so bright and high toned. Palate closed but all there. I’ll be back.

Nose is closed after 45 minutes. But palate. Oh man. Super silky and sweet. Dense and sappy cherry fruit. So long. Ripe, gorgeous tannins. Epic.

What a nose. Unreal. Huge black and red cherries. Mineral. Loam. Blueberry, raspberry. Amazingly detailed fruit. So so saturated. Spice, so floral. Just a depth one can’t believe. Wow those inner mouth aromas. Massively concentrated, inky, dark and brooding, huge tannins, amazingly dense fruits, big tannins and and big acid, but amazingly vivid fruit despite all the bigness of the structure. Blackberry sap and extract are off the charts. This needs 5-7 years. Epic wine.

Too young but couldn’t resist. Very muscular and dark fruited. Great concentration and sappy, but enough acid to keep it fresh and balanced. Decant needed.

Bought from fass selections. Very closed. Needs 45 minutes to start to open.

This is going to be unreal in 5 years. The balance and precision in this wine is off the charts. Even at this point it lingers for a good 60 seconds. Amazing silky texture. Very old school. Fruit is in harmony with minerality but does not overshadow it. Bright acidity.
