Les Grands Charrons Meursault White Blend

Almost a year since I have had this and wow has it improved. It improved on profundity which is what Pierre does. The core of fruit on the palate is just profound and is wrapped in a silken finesse. Just drop dead stunning. Nose is nutty, floral and so detailed. Unreal clarity and aroma separation. Just sick. The palate is just amazing. Deep, structured and long. The class is just crazy. 2nd vintage he has nailed this. Nose is getting crazy floral. White flowers. Unreal grilled bits. Unreal elegance and finesse. Holy shit.

Gorgeous nose that is so classic Meursault. Buttery, slight woodiness, saline, rich and echoing. Grapefruit, citrus, tangelo, apple, pear and more. Huge 23 dramatic fruit. But also floral and mineral and needs time to come together but the raw materials are there. Big iodine and hickory now. Wow what a mouthfeel. Rich, eleganr and so supple. Floats. Much better than 22 in that it’s more elegant and nimble. Rich but soft and angular. Inner mouth aromas are sick. Wow that balance is sick. Such an intense core of lime, citrus and acidity. Unreal minerality and confectionary flavors and some sweet wood on the finish. Nose is now more melon and floral. Deep. Palate has such a contrast as it’s rich but also super chiseled. More to come. Outrageous concentration and structure. Like Riesling Trocken but has plumpness and a Meursault character. The nose is all white flowers and cantaloupe on day 2 and is so provocative. Unreal sweet wood and a hint of butter. Gorgeous. 9.8 nose. Palate is round, focused and just stunning. Unreal length and fruit set.

Stunning nose of wet earth, liquid minerals, a hint of butter, lime zest, meyer lemon, green apple, melon and so much more. Incredible aromatic depth and layering. The crystalline purity of the nose must be smelled to be believed. Palate is a bit closed shut right now but is dazzlingly pure and electric. Emphatic richness allied with engaging minerality and its showing such complexity right now. The finish is intensely mineral and never ends. Pierre is like the beatles. Endless hits. Unreal concentration and salinity. Really coats the mouth. Such killer delineation and finesse. Top stuff. With air the nose becomes super aromatic and confectionary. Also an appealing hit of saline. Gorgeous and clear. Stunning elegance and power. This is profound. After 4 hours open this is a pure mind bender. The nose is achingly beautiful. Pure lemon drop now coming through. Palate is rich with insane salinity and depth. Just so brilliant.

Nose: elegant field of white flowers. Lemon pith. Sea breeze.

Palate: mountain stream. Silky. Delicious but restrained. Elegant brine. The merest Hint of nectar.

So long. Clingy. Amazing.
