Super floral nose with deep black cherry, some clear wet earth and spice. Seems like it’s holding back. Lovely meatiness with air. Blackberry and black currant now. Really pretty and focused. Palate is elegant and fresh with terrific black and red cherry fruit and so much fruit and material on the midpalate. Needs air to come together but it’s all there.

Maybe this bottle is off, but no delineation. Flabby and hot with nice dark red fruit and some acidity but lacking tannins and, well, character. 2020

Exuberant nose of big red cherries, spice, minerals and terrific bramble. Gorgeous vivid violet florals. So vivid and precise. Palate is juicy, compact, fresh and deep. Succulent and wow what depth but also nimble. Really pure and has some nice structure but needs maybe 35 minutes of air. Great stuff.

As usual this is a preposterous wine and a preposterous value and the best of its kind. The fruit has a lipstick like intensity that boggles the mind. Black cherry, dark red cherries, dusty earth, pulverized rocks and so much more. There is a tiny berry fruit intensity that is a trademark of this wine. Smells like elite village burg. Palate is Uber concentrated with dazzling purity and freshness for days. Black cherry, dark red cherries and so much sapidity. Elegant, complex and so deep. Amazing black raspberry as well. This just keeps pushing on the finish. As this airs the limestone intensity just keeps getting more and more defined on the nose. Superb cut and delineation, with such unreal concentration. Never heavy always elegant and a finish you will not believe for this level. It’s superb in its compactness. Some wood shavings character now on the nose after air. From high school woodshop. Gorgeous fruit. This is just dazzling. A skoche behind the 19 but still the best of its class. Let’s see what air does.

Really a brilliant bottle. Awesome nose of cherry flower and tweed. Mid season cherries and sour cherries. Top not of florals. So pungent. Lipstick like intensity. Such pure fruit and lovely intensity. Sappy mid season cherry fruit and such high quality fruit. Dazzlingly pure. Really open today. Greet concentration and sweetness of fruit. Wow. Just so good. Hedonistic and so well made.

Preposterous. Only word for this wine. Stunning nose. Pungent red and black fruits, lovely dusting of earth, floral, lipstick like intensity, so sappy and so pure. Wow what a nose. Just so so expansive. Really detailed, clear and pure. Really is a step up over the 18. Wow what a palate. Froooooooot! I am Froot. I am Froot. I am Froot. Anyway. Gorgeous, clearly defined red cherry fruit with a dash of blackberry and so so pure. Gorgeous earthy minerality. But the purity, decadence and also gamey (Gevrey?) quality of the fruit really are compelling. Wow, inner mouth florals and aromas. Beautiful, elegant and taught structure as well. So so pretty. Sappy, long and dissipating finish. This is an unreal wine. I can’t figure out if it’s a 9.3 or 9.4. The day will decide. Onward! I am Froot!

Palate is getting rounded and this has the elite fruit of Pierre’s higher end wines but doesn’t have the complexity or length. But man that froot and texture.

After 4 hours this has gotten silkier, sweeter and sexier. 9.3 to 9.4. Insane acids. Huge minerals. It dances in the palate.

Oh man what a great bottle of wine. Stunning nose of cherry flower, gorgeous smokiness, some high end leather, sopping red cherries, so deep, so high quality. Wow, what fruit. So decadent yet fresh and such energy! Really loads of cherries and just so so pure. Awesome purity. Velvety tannins and they just pump that sweet, pure fruit onto your palate. Invigorating, luscious and so so good. As it airs nose has a lipstick like intensity to it. One of the best BR’s ever. Terrific concentration sap and sweetness but finishes very mineral.

First ever Bourgogne Rouge from Brisset and it’s a doozy. Wow. Such stunning pure fruit on the nose. Wild berries, black cherry, so pure. Elegant spiced and underbrush. Pungent lipstick like intensity on the nose. Glorious fruit. Palate is as glorious as one would expect a Brisset Bourgogne Rouge to be. Gorgeous pure fruit, dense berries, black cherry, spice, awesome body and density. Amazing concentration and density for a Bourgogne Rouge and just thrilling pure fruit. What a finish! And I just popped it. It will surely open. Amazing palate presence. Sappy and so fresh. Briliant.

Very nice - straight forward effort, fruit focused with full spectrum of cherry & sweet spice. Stood up to roast duck
