This was simply a gorgeous older Gevrey from Pierre Bourée. An interesting, slightly odd vintage- but this shines beautifully. Bright, transparent garnet with brilliant reflection and orange-copper hues. Intensely aromatic immediately upon opening- laser beams of sour cherries and rhubarb. Slightly bitter note of blood orange on the mid palate with some serious mushroom and truffle umami savory character. Unmistakable and persistent taste of iron on the finish which I loved. Very complex and cohesive wine with true personality and beauty. This vineyard has recently received a much more regal status and this wine is no doubt great evidence.

Muddy fruit, not bright, on the nose. Tart cherry on the palate. Long finish nice wine
