Philippe Bornard
Point Barre Arbois Pupillin Ploussard
Typically, I'd say opening this in the midst of aged greats would be a bad idea (as with what happened to the 16' Vasse Felix Cab Sauv), but somehow this worked... For me, at least. The crowd was pretty much divided though. I thought it was a nice break... A sort of fresh red kabi to cleanse our palate in between reds. But can you even call this a red... Such a delicate colour... It's more like a rosé or orange wine 🤣 red currant, sour cherries, citrus, cinammon, wet stone, a touch of musk. Delicious ploussard!

Apr 5th, 2021A funky end to our France trip. Color was in between a light red and orange with some orange wine type dry-ness. Tons of funk so not for everyone but went well with different food. As the caviste described it “ca c’est plus rock n roll!”

Feb 17th, 2018Yes wow Philippe Bornard hold my hand and take me to nice places I trust you. I get it now I see why you are the wine Mayor of Jura. This wine is like talking and blushing occasionally and making good eye contact in the park all night in the summertime until the birds start their chat and you have to end yours. I know I'm wrong but sometimes (like right now) I think Ploussard is the greatest grape of all.

Nov 13th, 2017No one will ever claim ploussard as their favourite grape due to its rarity but damn it's fascinating, light, pretty, low abv, low tannin but capable of an incredibly lengthy finish. This is a great example, cherry, strawberries, cream, just lovely ❤
