Gattinara is getting a ton of attention right now and it's easy to see why. This 06 is ride with tension, good minerality, crystal cherries and rose. It's at its peak right now as primary elements are still present but tannins resolved. Delicious with a stunning homemade risotto and paired with the company of wonderful friends.

It became really smooth and blended together after being open for some time (aka decanting al fresco). Super pleasant medium bodied and good for food (pizza, oven) and just playing drinking (glass, mouth)

Typical brick color for Nebbiolo but more fruit forward. Still some tar, tobacco, roses, dark cherries, and ripe plums. Iron and minerals, too. Good tannins and acid plus a touch of funkiness, especially on opening. Considerably better after decanting. From Flatiron Wines.
