Colli Orientali del Friuli Schioppettino di Prepotto

Aromas and flavors of dried maraschino cherry, red apple, dried herbs, mixed peppercorns, broken rock, and spice box. Medium-high acidity, and medium body. A Pinot lovers’ wine.

Dark forest berries, black pepper, crushed rocks, lavender, rosemary, turpentine. Love this obscure little varietal and the minerality it transmits.

Very rustic with plenty of charming nuance. Great aromas of brambly fruits, black licorice, crushed peppercorns, brown spices, violets and potpourri. Palate shows wild berries, minerals, ash, and green peppercorn spice. Dry and bright on a moderate frame with just the slightest influence of oak to round it off. Was expecting more assertive tannins but these seem rather refined. Great burger wine.

Among the best Schioppettino di Prepotto. Fruity and rustic, drinkable with personality

Reminds me of passetoutgrain. Solid. Seems to have some elements of Gamay and some of Pinot Noir.

Vintage: 2015. Superb! High black pepper!

I couldn’t get enough of this bad boy, one of the most interesting wines I’ve had in a while, light red fruits and dirt on the nose with an incredibly off juicy and signature black peppercorn flavor of Schioppettino - don’t ever pass up the chance to taste this varietal, but particularly this wine. Wow.

Violet on the nose, raspberry on the palate. More floral on the finish. Like CdP with a little more acidity.

Pretty interesting. Loads of table pepper on the aroma. The fruit isn't bright or juicy, instead the wine has a earthiness and unripe quality. Super peppery.
