Vigna Grande Vinding Montecarrubo Syrah
This is very young but very delicious. Nose is not giving off much initially but the palate is so velvety, low key rich and so suave. This is so elegant and refined. With gorgeous dark black fruits and fascinating mineral backbone. Nose starts to give smoke, spice and a little wood. Hints of floral and incense. But it will be better with air. It’s multidimensional for sure as well. The depth, concentration and finesse is quite something. Really a step up from Vignolo in 19. Structured to age 5-10 years. Likely needs 2-3. Like a Cornas. Rock star wine.

Oct 31st, 2020Big, expressive nose, roasted notes but still fresh, charcoal, gamey, meaty, olivey, ripe, spices, really not subtle and very exuberant aromas. Palate is juicy, concentrated and complex. Structured, sappy and deep. Long, finesse and linear. Best of these yet. Seems they look a leap between 12/13 and 17. 9.2 for now. Air will help. I’ll be back.

Lots of fruit (blackberry, red currant, strawberry) paired beautifully with a black olive component. Very deep and with a LOT of potential left. Will get way more elegant in the next 5-10 years.
