Peter Michael Winery
Peter Michael Sauvignon Blanc L'Apres-Midi
Monthly WTF wine group meet up. Theme was “bring something good”. All wines (minus the bubbles and SB) were tasted blind.
In the name of science, @Dan Fitzgerald brought this so that we could get a feel for how these taste young since the release is tomorrow. I’ve had a few older wines and after this, it confirmed for me these can hold really nicely. Extremely bright and floral, with lychee, key limes, and wet rock aromatics. Sharp acidity on the palate wrapped in tart stone fruits, kiwi and pineapple.

A blend of 88% Sauv Blanc and 12% Semillon. Pale yellow wine with aromas of citrus, floral, wet stone and tropical flesh fruit. On the palate rich fruits of pear & peach flavors with citrus zest and earthy mineral notes on a balanced structure with lively fresh acidity. Lingering finish, pleasant ending with pronounced mineral character. Leave this in the cellar for a few years. Nice. Tasting Sample.

Jul 3rd, 2019I love this wine. I never take enough of my allocation of this wine. Understandable as they have so many great wines: Les Pavots, all the chards and all the pinots. It is hard to allocate $ to the cab sauv, but in the future I need to take more of the Apres Midi. Great citrus notes and balanced acid.
