Gotta love magnums. It’s not an expensive wine but the large format makes it go further and make it more enjoyable. It’s a good Aussie Shiraz, too. That American Oak gives it plenty of cowboy and the old leather and earthy tannins do well with the already over the top bombastic fruit inside.

Just brilliant, tannins have melted away over the years, leaving a flavour of deep blackberries with no dry finish Sunday night with some cheese for a weekend cap, marvellous!

Might be a little past its prime. Tannins a little overpowering but good balance overall.

Lashings of dark plum with an underlay of dusted chocolate and the palate is brimming with rich fruit flavors restrained by soft fine grained tannins.

Past peak, underwhelming for a 2005 which is supposed to be an iconic vintage in the BV.
