Schonfels Faß 11 Riesling

Team drinks continued with this stunning Riesling from Peter Lauer. I remember reading in David Schildknecht's review of the 2015 that the vineyard from which this gorgeous wine emerges was abandoned and left wild. What a service from those who brought back these ancient vines into production. Wildly complex and almost viscous in texture, this rich, peachy, minerally wine is just gorgeous.

I’ve been waiting to taste one of these for ages and I was not disappointed. A perfectly balanced fruit basket glazed with honey.
