Hanlin Hill Clare Valley Riesling
Hot off the Press. Always one of Australia’s better Rieslings over decades. Dried white flowers on the nose. On the palate bracing citric acid with the tension you would expect from a young Riesling. A long life ahead as always. I still have a couple of the 2002 left.

Jan 9th, 2019Great recommendation from the local wine shop!
Light gold color. Petrol and flowers on the nose. Crisp and bright, with excellent balance. Had before and after dinner, so is very multidimensional. Loved it!

So disappointing to see how a big brewing conglomerate can absolutely ruin a legendary label. This used to be an industry benchmark, and now it tastes like mass produced rubbish. I’m glad Brian has distanced himself and moved on to amazing new things.

May 25th, 2018Old school aged Riesling. Great texture, acid still holding, a nice wine

May 4th, 2018Surprisingly, the kerosene nose I expected of this old beauty is completely absent. Instead, it's soft and gentle on both nose and palate, with notes of sultanas on the former. Falls away a bit on the back palate and doesn't linger, but went very nicely with blue cheese. Took a while to open up and definitely benefited from warming a touch in the glass.
